Coping Isn’t Healing✨

Coping Isn’t Healing✨

Coping Isn’t Healing… But We Call It Progress Because We’re Still Standing 💭🧍🏾‍♂️

Let’s be real.

Most of us aren’t healed.
We’re just busy. 📅

We’re overbooked, overproductive, and overstimulated.
We’ve convinced ourselves that movement = growth and functionality = wellness.

But let’s break that illusion:

  • Waking up early doesn’t mean you’re healed.
  • Showing up to work doesn’t mean you’re okay.
  • Taking care of everybody else doesn’t mean you’re strong.

It just means you’ve mastered coping.

The Lie of “High-Functioning” 🥇

People love to say “You’re doing so well” when what they really mean is:

“You’re suffering silently, but efficiently. Thank you for not making it inconvenient for us.” 🙃

We celebrate people who keep going.
We rarely check on people who never stop. 🧍🏾‍♀️🧍🏾‍♂️🧍🏾

Healing is not about how much you can carry.
It’s about how much you can set down. 🧺➡️🪑

Coping vs. Healing (Quick Reality Check) 🪞

Coping Looks LikeHealing Looks Like
“I’ll be fine.”“Something needs to change.”
🧊 Avoiding emotions🌊 Allowing emotions to exist
🤫 Keeping peace externally🏡 Creating peace internally
🏃🏾‍♂️ Functioning with pain🚶🏾 Functioning after facing pain
💪🏾 Performing strength🫶🏾 Practicing softness

Coping helps you survive.
Healing helps you live.

Why We Avoid Healing 👀

Because healing is inconvenient.
It interrupts productivity.
It requires stillness.
It asks hard questions like:

  • What have I been avoiding? 🤔
  • What do I actually feel? 💡
  • Who am I without struggle? 🧩

Coping lets you stay distracted.
Healing forces you to get honest.

My Personal Reminder (And Yours) 🗣️

I don’t just want to hold it together.
I want to put it down. 🎒

I don’t want to be praised for enduring pain quietly.
I want to be celebrated for pursuing peace intentionally. 🌱

I don’t want to look strong.
I want to be well. 🕊️

If This Hit You… Good. ❤️‍🩹

It means you still have hope.
It means part of you knows you deserve more than survival.
It means you’re ready to stop managing emotions and start transforming them.

Healing might be messy.
It might be slow.
But it is possible.

Let’s stop calling coping “growth.”

Survival got us here.
Healing will get us further. 🚀
